My New Boker USA

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

Got this a few days ago. Vendor said # on the tang is 6509.
I don't think that is correct. It looks more like 6593 or 6599 or.....

Can't seem to find a 2-blade USA Congress pattern number for Boker but I did find the completed auction and you made out like a bandit. Nice old bones on that knife! ::tu::

I "almost" prefer an older knife that shows that it has been used, not abused.
If this knife could talk.....

That could be a 6598. I don't find a record of a 6599 in my database, but the 6598 is a "half congress" pattern.
What is the length of yours, and the handle material? The length of the 6598 was 3 5/8" closed.
This is a unique pattern because it was made both in Germany (c 1913-1960) and USA (c 1928 - 1970s).
If the handle is bone, it was most likely made pre- 1962. If delrin, 1960s. I believe Boker USA stopped using that "curved bar" handle shield in the very early 1960s.

Hi. It is 3 5/8" closed. The vendor said the handle is bone.

Whatever the pattern number, I like it. Great old knife.

That fits then. USA made sometime between late 1920s to 1960. From the color and jigging of the bone, I would guess 1950s.
