Hi All,
I'm sure you all get this a fair bit.
I'm looking for more info on a boker tree brand slipjoint I have on the way.
Supposedly it is about 6 years old and I was told the handle material is mammoth (*assume tooth?).
Any links or info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Phil

Re: looking for info on boker tree brand slipjoint please!
I think that could be a custom job using a Boker copperhead pattern. It looks great!
Boker did offer at least three different patterns using mammoth ivory handles, but they were all lock backs if I recall correctly.
I think they started around 2010, but the grain was running in a different direction.
Here's yours. Here are the ones I have seen offered for sale online.

Re: looking for info on boker tree brand slipjoint please!
thank you very much for the reply and posting the photo!
I just purchased this through a local FB group.
I originally purchased this as I wanted to get the feel of the two different shaped blades for a future custom slipjoint purchase.
I found the same boker mammoth photos you posted as well but after trying for 2-3 days, I cannot find a similar knife to
the one I purchase, so maybe your custom suggestion is possible.
Thanks again!

I think that is a likely scenario, as yours appears to have black spacers between the mammoth and the bolsters.
Boker didn't use spacers with theirs.
I think yours looks even better than the ones that Boker offered. The longer grain lines give the knife a smoother look.
To me, the short grains tend to disrupt the flow of the scales.

Oh! And WELCOME to AAPK!

Re: looking for info on boker tree brand slipjoint please!
thank you for the warm welcome!
I have pester the guy I bought it from who says he purchased it from a forum member, 6-7 years ago.
If I have this correct, the scales were custom and but it was purchased from the maker previously.
So not sure if I am the 3rd or 4th person to have this?
I hope to find out more info as it's a bit of a mystery and I'd love to find out who did the custom work etc.
Again this is just for interest as I only thought I was purchasing an fairly inexpensive knife to have a play/carry.
