Early Boker Knives

I Purchased this one off ebay a couple years back, super quality, I love these Bokers, I need more.

Hey Guys, I trying to do some catch-up work on "Boker" made knives. I didnt realize there was a NEW BOOK available. I have had a rough past few years & I havent kept up reading on the aapk site. I WILL get the New Boker book as soon as I can afford too. In the meantime, I got 2 questions for ya'll.

1st Question, Is there A Relation of J. Wiss & Sons to BOKER --- See picture of my J. Wiss & Sons old knife below.

2nd Question, I have this H. Boker w/ Etched blade & I am trying to narrow down the dating. I was going to list on ebay but decided to do a little more digging before I listed it as 1890s,,,and thats when I found this New thread on Boker Studies as well. I cant wait to post more Knives on here.

Hey Guys, I have this Adorable Champagne pattern with an "Odd Boker stamp" that I havent seen before. The only reference I could find it in was Goins. I would have assumed it would have been in the knife world article with all the other known stamps? Handles are Ivory

Hey Mark,
Nice old champagne Knife! Boker made knives for Wyeth's Hardware on a contract basis. I'm not sure on the years of production.

Mark,
As for your questions regarding your first 2 knives:

1. Boker was bought by J. Wiss & Sons in the sixtes (1969 I think) and they later sold the name to Cooper tools in the early seventies. Cooper tools stopped producing knives in 1983 and the Boker brand name was restored to Boker in 1986.

2. Your other knife is an old one. Goins dates that tang stamp from 1869 - 1914 while Mark Zalesky's Knifeworld article dates it from 1869 - 1910. Since there is no country of origin stamped on the tang, it could have been made prior to 1891 in Germany OR after 1891 in the U.S. My best guess, based on the overall look of the knife and its stamps is the late 1800's or early 1900's. Hope this helps.

I was feeling the same as you on that knife & I value your input Sir. I really liked it. Its going out on my ebay page in about an hour from now & someone is going to LOVE it!! She is only at 15-bucks right now, lol

Lovely Champagne pattern knife ! It might want to immigrate to Canada.
Here is an old H. Boker's/Improved/Cutlery 2 3/4" pen knife. It is rather worn but action is smooth, snaps crisp(with half stops) and no play which i think is very good for a knife that is about 140 years old. The 'tree' is but a sapling on this one.

Love that little Boker Ivory Mr. Roland, I got a neat Southington I fixing to post under the Southington thread. You would enjoy seeing it as its our kind of knives.

Beautiful knives guys! I believe this to be 1930's, BOKER block stamp. There is etching still on the main blade so can anyone recommend a non abrasive cleaning method?

Picked up this baby coke bottle H Bokers Improved cutlery while on vacation in Daytona beach a couple weeks ago . Antique store find . Not sure on the age ?

Boker prices are through the roof right now. This is the first one I've been able to get in a while. Really happy with it.
