2020 GEC 23 Trapper

Post by Rotten »

Was cruising the GEC sight early this morning looking at the whats happening pics and it was all 62 patterns.

Came back just a moment ago and they have some pics of the 23 Trapper pattern 2 blade clip/spey posted now. Brazilian cherry wood and muslin handle material is shown. Personally I really hope there is an ebony version.

Lets share the 2020 models here as we know more.

Yep , the GEC#23 parts are already getting started. I was hoping for Ebony wood also. I am sure the Brazilian cherry wood will have a beaver shield. A bomb shield would look more classy. I already have two club knives paid/pre-ordered. Those beefy drop point blades are for two blade #23s. Mike Latham on Blade Forums hinted that two blade #23 jumbo Trappers were club knives and #23 single blade liner-lock Trappers were for the dealers. You just never know with GEC playing head games. #23 Trapper single blades , two blades , slipjoint , lock-back , bull-lock , or liner-lock, I am ready for some #23 Jumbo Trappers !

Found this surfing the web. I wish we knew what kind of price point the regular production were going to be at when they hit the dealers.

I always liked the 23. Nice big knife.
I put one of the Autumn Bone on reserve. Looking forward to it.

I reserved one each of the 2 blade and 1 blade versions. I wasn't paying attention close enough at the time to realize that the autumn bone was natural and not jigged and initially reserved autumn bone in each but was able to change my 2 blade reservation to the brown jigged bone. I just hope that one or preferably both have the UN-X-LD shield, my luck probably neither.

SOME INFORMATION ON THE #23 TRAPPER SCHEDULE IS INCORECT ! I know the OKCA club knife is #23 Trapper two blade in antique jigged bone. The GEC computer employee is on bereavement leave and the GEC web-sight will be corrected ASAP.

I have a feeling the Brown jigged bone will be more exciting. Last year , Bill Howard came out with a new bone color for the JSR Sports & More SFO knife. It started out as "dark chocolate". Those jigged bone scales were dark almost midnight Chocolate brown . They were very unappealing in the GEC production line photos. Right before the release , JSR was taking pre-orders. I took a leap of faith and I went for it. When GEC posted a picture of Chocolate Almond peach-seed jigged bone , I flipped out . I received the better lighter one too. JSR released a few at a time each week ,over a month. I bought a bunch of #86 knives , so I was broke. The last batch on an early Sunday money , I snagged a slightly darker one. That one goes with me in my pocket or my GEC sheath. I am a pest. I write letters and FB messages to GEC . "Bring back the Chocolate Almond GEC bone color." The best brown bone color on earth. (soft almond color jigged , white edges , and dark chocolate specks in the jigging).

What color or colors is "Woodland Micarta" ? My guess is it has some green, but what does it look like ?

I am shocked. Bill Howard "ROCKS AGAIN" ! This Woodland micarta looks like wood scales. I thought these micarta scales were Brazilian Cherry wood grooved jigged. The best GEC knives are yet to come. This is why I buy from GEC dealers only to help support this company prosper !

Thanks. I would not have guessed 'Micarta' for these handles. Looks like wood with wood inlay.

Nice find, Onearm. As always, thanks for the update.

I am having a difficult time interpreting the blade etch. Is it a guy splitting wood?
