The 2018 Rendezvous knife is a Whaler with reclaimed heartwood pine from the Plymoth Cordage factory, great knife

I never purchased any of the other Whalers that came out, but that one is very nice. Have a great time the rest of your stay there.

Nice one John.
Thanks Lyle, you and Jan were missed, hopefully next year.

Couple pics of the Whaler I picked up with an original Schrade Plymouth Cordage Company rope knife. The pine handles are from reclaimed lumber from that company which originated in 1824 and made rope for sailing ships including whaling vessels.

Having that original rope knife is really cool. You must have been extremely shocked when you saw what the Rendezvous knife was!

I sure was, I was expecting something on the 44 frame currently in production, was not expecting a Whaler much less one with a whale shield and wood that has a story. Bill told me the knives were made when they did the whaler run and have been sitting in the vault until the Rendezvous.

They've barely finished sweeping the floors at GEC from the Rendezvous and already people are trying to cash in...

The whale is opposite to the etch in orientation when blade is open, but looks right when blades are closed. I guess this is what happens with a figural shield.
