And now available at KSF.

Edit: i am about 10 posts late with this announcement.
So many dealers put the MB Whalers up for sale at the exact same time, there must have been collusion, maybe to help thwart flippers.

It will be interesting to see how long they last today. I also wonder what the production numbers were.

Here is the muscle bone I ordered from Collectors Knives, I'm thinking I like this better than the iron wood.

Collector Knives must have gotten some extra allocations as their reservations have been closed for months.

I was thinking that the ones that I am seeing for sale at CK are much cheaper than the others, but I now see that they have cosmetic issues.

Well the horn sounding by all of the AAPK watch dogs worked to perfection today and I would like to thank and commend all who participated. If you wanted one and didn't get one today, shame on you. ::handshake:: :D

Greg, you could not have received 2 better looking Whalers. Actually every #46 posted so far is attractive ++. GEC workers obviously put a lot of effort into these.
Since we seem to be 'voting' on preference, i think the Desert Ironwood handles make this knife look 'stately', a Royal carry.
The Muscle Bone handles make for a more rugged look, at home with a sailor or longshoreman.
Either would make me happy, but if i could only have one, i'm a Desert Ironwood type of guy. "Morning Governor, i sure like your fancy knife". "Why thank you sailor. You have a good looking knife yourself, rugged, like you."

After suffering a camera breakdown, I am finally back up and running. Here is a shot of my 2 whalers, I'm still trying to decide which I like better.

Rookie, that's a great pair! From what I've seen so far there is a good deal of variation in the color on the Muscle Bone knife handles too. Those were two pretty good picks by GEC. ::tu::

Thanks Gsmith. I don't have many GEC knives, but these 2 are quite impressive. And they're fun to take pictures of!

Unfortunately I appear to be addicted to the whalers now. I find myself searching ebay for older models, and then cringing at the asking price.

TSA Knives listed 4 more muscle bone whalers today.
$159.00 each and each with a disclaimer. But, apparently not edcs.
Thanks for the heads-up on the newly-released T.V. ivory.

I'm really not sure why I did this, perhaps it was just the fact that I happened to be there when they were available and the electric atmosphere of a frenzied Knife release but I bought two more of these Whoppers last week.

Greg those are 2 awsome examples. Don’t feel bad I did the same thing with the ironwood :D . I’m still trying to decide if want to sell one or not. I did get lucky enough to get a muscle bone and an iron wood. It was a lot of fun trying to hunt them down!
