GEC #43 vs. GEC #74

Post by XX Case XX »

So I'm looking at the new GEC #43 and it looks very similar to the GEC #74. The GEC website doesn't give a lot of specific information on their knives so I'm wondering what the difference is except for the lanyard hole. They basically look like the same knife. Do you guys see something I'm missing? (Photos from GEC Website)

Closed length for one thing. The #74 is 3-7/8" closed, the new #43 is 4¼" closed. Placement of the nail nick is slightly different.

The difference as has been pointed out is in the size. Although only 3/8" difference which seems minor but in a folding knife it makes for a big difference in the in hand feel as well as length of blade. The 43:74 comparison is similar to the 73:23 in which the size difference is a big 3/4".
