Just saw a 2016 TC Peach Seed Jig TC Barlow sell for $430.00 on the Bay
Keep in mind that there were almost 500 of those made. That's crazy since a 2015 Copperhead Pick Bone TC New Day sold for over $100 less and only 67 of it were made.

The peach seed clip is one of the finest TC Barlow's but I don't understand that one selling at that price as it's used. I enjoy this sellers writeups as he "mods" his knives and gets more than the pristine ones. This one was "hand rubbed" to remove the etch and sharpened. Good for him making monry, but leaves me scratching my head when the last 3 of that model sold for 380, 230 and 230.

I had a very nice Stag Grinling Whittler that i sold for $140. I'm not much of a businessman.

$330 is crazy for this knife. I believe I read that the distributor expects to get more of these from GEC so there would be an opportunity to buy this knife at the normal retail price.

There were 2 other auctions that sold for $400.
Crazy.

I received a mail out yesterday (Nov. 24) from a GEC dealer offering this same green bone #14 with the boot shield for $125. This is the same day that posts above show selling prices over $300. I clicked on the link in the dealer email and there were still 8 knives available. I should have bought one but i thought $125 was a bit high.

Holy smokes! The red stag I knew would bring a premium and was expecting the Forest Jack to be in the 300 range. Almost 400 for Northfield 85s tho? I guess I'd take that for mine.

I was afraid of that! Looks like my Hope's for a polished stag 85 just went up in greenbacks.

This insanity is making any sort of aftermarket GEC transactions (or the prospects for them) make me queasy, because now there is the added dynamic of having to find a reasonable middle ground in a transaction and sellers expecting astronomical starting points thanks to auctions like these. At this point I think I am going to take my TC Ancient out of the tube and start toting it.

Welcome to the world of collecting where the demand far exceeds the supply. I don’t keep GECs as collector pieces, unused, waiting for value increase. I buy Tidioute in general for that reason. Paying retail. The only Northfield I have is the #14 Lick Creek Boys Knife, two blade, bone. It’s also a user. Probably my favorite all-around Great Eastern Cutlery knife.

I think the market will settle out.

Not all sellers. Knife collectors often sell them at break-even or just a little more.

His write-up is hilarious tho. With free shipping by 2047 its a bargain.

I sent an offer of $120, he would break even with shipping and fees.

This Northwoods Michigan Jack w/ Green Camel bone went off 380 last night. I didn’t even try once it got over 200. There is another one coming up in a day or so on eBay.
This one is beautiful and would be worth buying, at the right price.

Mark I had been watching that one all week and thought maybe I could pounce on it at the very end for a bargain then saw on Sunday that there were 49 watchers.

Greg, I don’t know how many of those they made but that one went ballistic. Going to keep an eye on the other one coming up, we’ll see if it goes up like this one or not.
