Last year, they lasted slightly over 24 hours (IIRC).

Thanks for that info guys. My credit card is locked and loaded.gsmith7158 wrote:Your best course of action to get a club knife is to check the forum daily several times each day. When you see the announcement buy them immediately, they seldom last more than two days.
They in the store now better get em while they're hot.Tsar Bomba wrote:FYI since the only place I've seen it come up is GKD, the AAPK knives are in pre-order now. 73 en route to Bryan and another 27 to follow after.

Bryan doesn't have 'em in hand yet, but he should be receiving just under 3/4ths of the order by midweek or so and the store is taking orders now.Railsplitter wrote:Greg, I don't think they are in the store yet. The ad says they just shipped from GEC today.
The software is supposed to base shipping on weight for these knives. It appears to be a bit skewed too far upward when calculating cost on multiple items. Especially when mixed with shirt(s) or hat(s).Tsar Bomba wrote: Only thing I don't like is that the shipping cost seems to be based on the USPS flat-rate box which I know for a fact can fit at least five tubes of #35s inside, 4 with decent padding around it. I really don't feel like paying that much for shipping but there's no mechanism for combining shipments.
You're a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks for undertaking this mammoth effort, it is very much appreciated by everyone here.Bryan wrote:I'll be sure to refund overages to anyone who buys more than one item from the AAPK store & get the calculator more accurate in the near future.

Good move, Phil. You're gonna love it.philco wrote:Railsplitter that knife was more temptation than I could stand. I don't actively collect GEC knives but I've got one just like yours headed my way. (They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ya know)
I was offered to change my Yellow Rose to Banana Bone because I had a Yellow Rose on reserve. I declined and that's all I know but I assume at least a few will be available at dealers.MadTrapper wrote:Anyone know where the banana shield Churchills are going?

Might have been smarter to wait until they were no longer available from dealers.Railsplitter wrote:I don't know, Tony. That same seller has an Ebony Churchill for listed for $150.
Same here. Having carried the ebony 35 a few times already I am enamored with how much knife it is in such a slim package. And for an equal-ender it snaps just fine for me, though I have seen reports here of the yellow rose bone having no snap at all (hoping mine snaps acceptably).Railsplitter wrote:I can't wait to get my AAPK Churchill. My yellow rose 35 primary blade had very little snap, if any, when going from the half stop to closure. Cleaned with dawn, blew out with a air compressor, worked open several times and it is still improving. Still not up to par yet as my other GEC's. The secondary blade on my yellow rose has perfect walk and talk. I think the primary blade will get better with time. It sure is a beauty though.Tsar Bomba wrote:Might have been smarter to wait until they were no longer available from dealers.Railsplitter wrote:I don't know, Tony. Neat video . My yellow 35 is there now; however, when I initially received it i had to actually push the clip blade closed. No worries though because with the initial cleaning and working it open and closed, it's getting better every day. Unfortunately I made the mistake of showing it to my wife and she doesn't want me to use it much like I do my other knives. She isn't a fan of patina. Never had a non-user before. It is a beauty and I can understand why it is my wife's favorite. The Churchill feels great in the hand also.RalphAlsip wrote:Here is a 14 second video of the closing snap of a GEC 35 Churchill Yellow Rose clip blade. You can see that it is not a bear trap, but it does close by itself. It has to be almost closed before it will snap closed.
