Thx Chris and Bill for making it right!

Post by singin46 »

Well today I got my GEC #23 Pioneer back from the company after being rehandled in Calico Bone. The bloody buffalo horn that originally came on this 23 was beautiful but unfortunately had begun to pull away from the liners and it was causing some pretty ugly results to the knife overall. It was causing the liners to bend and a real mess was developing. I spoke with Chris via email, right after the holidays and she said to send it back to them, to see what they could do. Bill looked at the knife and felt that if they put horn back on the knife, it might be the same issues in years to come so they gave me a choice of a couple of bones. I went with Calico because I liked it on my Northwoods Burnside Jack. Very pleased with the results when it came in the mail today. Thank you Bill Howard and Chris for all you did to make this right,,, GEC!

I am glad to hear they took good care of you Perry! ::tu::

I like the orginal horn coloration, but that calico bone is pretty and shouldn't warp!

Thank you Don, Gino, Dale,Trevor and Ryan. ::handshake:: The horn looked great, obviously part of the reason I bought it from Jim back then. But the Calico bone will work just fine versus a destroyed knife.

Thank you Frank, got a conformation from Chris at GEC today, letting me know that my 2007 #23 Pioneer is now a 1 of 1 mainly because they didn't start using Calico bone till 2012. She said to her knowledge there has not been any Calico bone used on any #23s at all. So I went from 1 of 250 to 1 of 1, PERFECT! And I have all the documents to back it up. ::ds::
