I finally found a NIB serialized stag 72 with a clip blade. All of you fine gentlemen buy up all the GEC knives making it dang hard on a novice collector like me! I literally spent two months trying to find one. I will post pictures as soon as I get it. Can someone instruct me on how to make a leather lanyard? How about a leather belt sheath for the 72? I finally don't have to drool! The anticipation is amazing. Thanks for all the pictures and any info!
PS
I think the hours of looking really made me dislike the current blade offered in the 72. I am not sure of the blade name or purpose...it does look like a dang good skinning blade. Not to pointed, making it easy to field dress an animal. Anyone use one of these knives to skin with? Thanks again

i really like gecs offering the 72 lockback in 3 different blade shapes. this is a pattern for everyone desiring to carry & utilize a pocket folder which is optimal for most tasks whether it be urban or rural.sturdy enough, good carry size with a huge selection of handle material to please just about any preference. i would imagine many 1st time purchasers could hardly do better with any other pattern. of cousre our bankers ,accountants, & attorneys may wish a slightly different pattern for working in the city.--HiPower
Thanks Monk. I went looking at his old posts to see if he had answered and ran on to the one where he explains it's forced patina. Looks like black chrome to me and I like it. I don't think I would ever do that to one of my knives but I would buy one with a black chrome blade.

They make some great ones, no doubt about it. I think they should take some notes from Queen on their bone-jigging, but their fit and finish is tops in my book.
The 72 deffinitly looks like one tough ash knife! I hope to be able to get one sometime soon. Im looking for one that can handle anything you through it at, and that black micarta handled version would be perfect. Does anyone know if those are available anymore?
Tough as nails is what I'm after.
