100 burnt stag works out to one knife for every 70 AAPK members, not to mention the thousands of other knife collectors who aren't with AAPK.
I do agree, however, that 100 is far more than they have been turning out in any one run of any one pattern's single handle material.
I'm thinking that this pattern will not be repeated, or at least maybe not be repeated for a long time, so they decided to satisfy some future interest with the large number.
Frankly, I don't know why they don't increase the numbers of serialized and unserialized knives on the more popular patterns and handles.
They only put out 25 serialized of the new #72 big spear burnt stag lockback and they quickly disappeared.
The primitive bone of the same pattern was gone before it even hit the dealers stores.
Anyway, I'm a buyer of French Kate.
She's fun, she's practical(I need a pocket bottle opener that doesn't even need to be opened to use), and she's quite the conversation piece.
Down the road, Kate may turn out to be a much sought after one-hit-wonder.
Best,
Stephen

Stag, and Primitive Bone, how you guys withstand it.
I have a feeling there will be at least a couple members adding one of these to the GEC collection, only because they have to.

I wonder if they've ever released a knife in so many variations as this one? What a run...

I doubt that we'll ever see another run of French Kate which, over time, may make it a very collectible knife from a rarity perspective.

With 600+ on the production schedule how rare can they become?

600 knives with 11(so far)different handle materials.
That's not many, imo, if they don't run them again.
As I understand it, they were only going to run 35 of the primitive bone.
There are 10s of thousands of knife collectors.
Doesn't everybody need one more bottle opener?
I do.
