I like the early GEC's because there was more variety of pattern 'tweaks' and handle types. Many of the early knives are the more complex patterns, more demanding of the cutler's ability.

There it was at Gunstock Jacks table and Barry told me he had it custom covered, very nice popcorn black and brown and oatmeal off white stag. Not factory antler. Also a custom shield. Anyhoo, thanks Barry, fabulous piece, been looking for the right 48 with a good Wharn. If this had been sold online at auction it would have been twice the price.
