Congrats, beautiful knife. Love the color and the jigging. What's the color called if ya don't mind? Niiiiiiiiiiiice. Good year. Love the snap on those older GECs.

They called it "cherry jigged bone."

I know the light spots on the end are just where they sanded deeper than the dye took, but I think it makes it look just like a plump, ripe Rainier cherry. I love It.

Cherry jigged bone, very nice! I was also wondering what color it is. I like everything about that knife, actually I like it better than my 48 Improved Trapper. I prefer the wider regular clip, and I think the pen blade is more useful than the skinny wharnie. Unless you just open a ton of mail, then I suppose the thin wharnie would excel as a letter opener. Anyway, you've got a great find there! And the jigging looks nice and smooth too, probably better than the "cheese grater" hand feel of recent smaller jigging patterns. Well done!

I just got this 2012 slant bolster 66 stockman in a trade. Beautiful cocobolo handles, I can't do them justice with my pictures.

Ajd, I'm surprised you didn't pick up some colorful ones. That looks like a Birthday week to remember. Almost a knife rainbow. ::tu::

So I've got a friend, you know the type, lives for the trade. Well he knows I likes me some stockman knives and showed up at work this morning and hollers 'catch'. We quickly came to very reasonable terms and now it's mine.

39 made according to GEC. I consider myself very lucky. I dont have an example of all of GEC various stockman but a Wrangler was very high on the want list. The top spot on the want list and what I'd probably call my grail knife would be an 81 Abilene Yellow Rose.

Slinger, Ajd, Sharpshiny, Rotten, beautiful pieces all of you, and over this page. Big Monk that's gotta be the prettiest stag in the herd. Wow.
Me I've been Camel hunting on and off for years now. Hard to fight it. I'm a sucker for the blues.
