The #35 is one of my favorite GEC patterns and the 2017 AAPK #35 that I-man scored looks Great. I would love to find one too but with the border closed i cannot use my USA shipping address and very few sellers ship to Canada. So, no new GEC's for me for over 1 year now.

Jerry, I got these from dealers while still not cheap still cheaper than the bay. I have a friend with a fast computer who knows how to work the system. So between the both of us Im usually able to get the ones a want with out paying flipper prices. Which I won't pay flipper prices any way. I would have been happy to have gotten one of them. To have gotten both of them is almost unbelievable. GEC really did an excellent job on these.

Living in an area that does not have the fastest of hi speed internet connection coupled with my poor computer skills has made it impossible for me to buy a new GEC for about the last 2-3 years. As soon as an email comes in from a dealer saying 'GEC knives available', i go to the dealer site and see that all have been sold.
I think if you use a smart phone you get these dealer messages sooner than if relying on email ?
I am lucky that i began buying GEC knives right from their first run of #73's in 2006. Up until about 2015 ? great GEC knives, even those with ivory or mammoth might sit on a dealer's site for a week or more, before being sold. Ah, the good old days.

I just bought one of these new #38 "English Whittler" knives with Burnt Orange Jigged Bone handles from a seller on ebay for $225. I think they were about $190 new from a GEC dealer ? If so i think this seller's mark up is reasonable. Plus he is going to ship it to my Canadian address which many sellers will not do.
Yippee ! :D My first new GEC knife in over 2 years.
kj
ps, for those who already have one in hand, how easy/hard are the pulls ?

Roland, congrats on landing one, some of the dealers were pretty close to $190 new so $225 is not bad. I think the pulls are excellent for the pattern, the main is heavier than the secondaries, a good firm 6 and the secondaries a nice 5.

JohnR, thank you for info about pulls and pricing.
Beautiful 'rich' looking handles on your new #38. Not all of these handles have the same 'warm' and appealing color that your knife shows.
