Earl you have a good eye...Adam (Darksev) did the work, only thing original is the blade.

Hey Johnny - I like your new EDC ...I decided to get this little one some pocket time.
How does the sleeveboard compare size and feel-wise to the 25s? Startin to look at those with that inkling ...
Thanks,
Edge

Hey Edge, sorry about being late in getting an answer back to you.
They are almost exactly alike, size, weight, feel, everything, very nice for watch pocket EDC.

A 73 Scout and a Mink Skinner are my only two GECs so far, and they both get carried. Both have a little more use on them since this pic was taken.
Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
Thanks, Johnny! I think I might have to see about one of those …
Cooter, those are two mighty fine EDCs ya got there! Great choices!

Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
I just did a quick inventory and about 22 of 37 GECs are in, or have been in, my EDC rotation. Some more than others though.

Which ones do you seem to favor? A particular pattern or size?2Dead wrote: Some more than others though.

Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
I like to have at least one long blade with some belly and at least one straight edged blade. While my #53 Cuban Stockman and Furtakers should be at the top of my carry list, I find myself carrying a #48 single blade, regular, or jack along with a #61 half congress. Sometimes swapping a #48 for a #12 and a #61 for a #25. If I could get a #48 jack with a short wharncliffe, sheepsfoot, or coping blade, then I would probably become my primary carry knife. 3 3/4" - 4 1/8" would be the ideal size I think.vikingdog wrote:Which ones do you seem to favor? That said, I keep a #53 Furtaker, a Stockman, and a Victorinox Electrician by my computer for a quick grab and go knife if I'm in a hurry.
I also like the #73 pattern but its more than I need in a knife during my day so I don't carry them as much. #56s are nice but just a little smaller than what I'm looking for right now.

Yeah, I immediately went to the GEC site and that only made things worse.

Oh we'll be here all right, to add fuel to the fire. Just ask Monk for advice, he'll help you out. What you need to do is go to a knife show where GEC is set up and see about 75 knives that you can handle and check out in person.TripleF wrote:LOLOn Edge wrote:Triple F, you are in trouble now my friend …TripleF wrote:WOW, my first exposure to these knives. Check out my new Bulldog ram's horn 73L! Love the interior horn and bomb shield on this knife. This baby's going directly into my carry rotation, which is almost completely GEC knives now.
Oops, I shoulda rotated those... Barry

Re: Is your EDC a GEC?
These are my current EDC GEC's; you can see I lean toward the 73 pattern.
I forgot to put my wenge wood Furtaker Trapper to the mix as it was in my coveralls. It's a real workhorse and one of my primary "go to" knives. I love the big wharncliffe blade. Try it, you'll like it!!!Barry
