Re: American Elk GEC
Don't know the exact number Ken, But mine is marked 35. I bought mine from Perry Miller aka. (Knifekid) when they first came out and he told me these 1 blade trappers would be the shortest run in the American Elk handles. I thought he told me there were only 30 something made but I can't be for sure on that Kelley
Re: American Elk GEC
Gunsmoke47; the web sit says 35 but I am not sure if it is 35 of the knives and 6 factory run knives. or if they only made 35 and all are factory run knives??
Thank you for your input all

Re: American Elk GEC
I don't know either Ken but my blade has the same etching on it as yours and a 35 on the bolster. Maybe I got the very last one?
Re: American Elk GEC
Ken,there were #35 pcs. made of the #735108 American Elk, during the "'Factory Test Production Run""______ You got a very nice one, with, low serial number
I have a 2008,second cut stag,#53 Cuban Stockman,serial #24 of 24 pcs. (Factory Test Production Run )
They made a #53 Cuban Stockman,in American Elk,that was regular production,but only 29 pcs. I have serial#13 of 29 pcs.
Again,that is """A DANDY"" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: American Elk GEC
Ken, that is a beautiful knife. I know I, and I'm sure several other AAPK members were eyeballin' that baby. I don't think you paid too much at all. They won't be makin' any more of 'em, so, it's like waterfront property... That's all there is... and there ain't no more! So I say... for Justold52!!!!

Both sides are well matched with that Ivory Elk look.
Here is the back side photo.
Now I am very happy just to get this one and not to out bid any AAPKs on it....
She came today. WOW she is worth all I paid for her.
Thanks you all for helping me understand the Factroy Run stuff...

Re: American Elk GEC
While rummaging around in the safe I found a pair of Elk's that I'd forgot about, 23 Great Eastern made in 2008.
I wish they would make some with a single clip blade.....

Re: American Elk GEC
Sure Ken! How about a 721111 lined bolster, one of seven made in 2011, and a 720111, one of six.
I was very fortunate to snap these up from KSF when they came out! I had no idea they were so scarce at the time, and apparently, neither did Derek. I'm sure GEC will be making more of the lined bolster 72 elks in the future! Barry
