Show us your 54 Whittlers ...

Post by On Edge »

Just picked up a 54 Whittler in Antique Amber Bone yesterday, and I am yet again impressed with GEC and NF ... (apologize for the poor picture quality, but take a look at the "secondary" blades on this puppy!)

So ... Share your GEC Whittler Pics!

OH! My eyes my eyes!!
Those are super BRIGHT. I think I see your camera in them. That pattern is starting to appeal to me. Must put one or four on my wish list.
Thanks for the look.

J.W.,

The real shame is that photography is one of my hobbies!

The pics were literally taken while I was sitting still in traffic, the "camera" was my phone, and I am totally embarrassed ... Please do not share!

But I am so taken with this pattern that I felt compelled.

Snag one, I promise it feels great in the hand, snaps like a trap, and is solid as a … well …. as solid as a GEC!

Thanks, Jack. Much prettier in person.

You don't seem to hear a lot about or see many GEC Whittlers … I saw it and took a chance - (well, not much of a chance … )

Glad I did … ::nod::

I believe you don't see the whittlers as often because of GEC's overuse of the #54 frame. By the time the Whittler came out I already had a Harness Jack and Big Jack 54. They used the same frame for several other blade configurations as well. Hell, I was starting to think they were going to release a #54 with tiny blades and call it a peanut. When the Whittler came out GEC collectors were ready for something else. Shame because the Whittler was probably the best use of the frame.

Great looking Whittler by the way!

Thanks, Johnny T!

I was very pleased with them when I received the knife.

Looking to mix up my handle materials a bit, and the Antique Amber Bone is now definitely on the repeat list.

Wow, they are very nice but not really surprised knowing the history these guys delved
into to make these beauties. ::nod::
I don't have any of these cause when they came out, I opted for the Harness Jacks instead. But still stunning! ::nod:: PLUS, they're pinched and threaded!!!
