havent noticed that many for sale compared to other models, id like one mabe in primative bone, w/ sheepfoot and spay blade, or mabe extra nice stag, and do any of the 1095 carbon models have shiney polished blades ? looks like most ive seen were matte finished.

I do believe they still make the stockman pattern, but I could be wrong.
I've bought four GEC's now and all were in 1095 and all were mirror polished, but if your gonna use your's it doesn't take long to lose the polish, they also take on a really nice patina. 8)

P.S.
Stockman with primative bone. ::drool:: ::nod::

i may be wrong, but i don't think they've made a stockman in quite a while.
it's a great pattern, though, so you'd think they'd make some new ones.
i think one of the prettiest knives they've made so far was the northfield stag stockman with slanted bolsters.
(scroll down a bit on this page: http://www.greateasterncutlery.net/catalog4.10.html)
i had one last year, but i sold it.
::dang::
i don't know if i'll ever find another one.

CBnutt, I love my GEC's they are tough and durable EDC's, the edge they take, and maintain is outstanding, the FF is top notch and the knives just scream craftsmanship.
I hope that everyone has the same experience that I've had with this company.

cbnutt...I too, would like to see more of the stockman pattern offered. I was fortunate enough to pick up one of their red stag stockman's recently, it is a winner...wouldn't mind finding one of the American Elk's they produced. Hopefully, we will see some more of the stockman pattern in the near future...

Johnny,

I couldn't agree more, GEC is tops in my book. ::tu::

GEC has not and I doubt they ever will retire a pattern. It will be made again.

Way to go! ::tu::
The Stockman pattern is just as practical today as when it was introduced more than a century ago. ::nod:: 8)
