Nice knife willc, have one in bone just like it. Love it. Also liking this more and more. I can't do the bone justice with my pictures, it's so deeper, richer, varied. Alas. Love the multiblade, the size, color and the serpentine. And all the Stockmans I've ever had have a really sweet, smooth, unique action and working unlike other three blades. Doesn't seem to matter what brand, it's still like a Stockman and nothing else. Seen the light. ::idea::

My all-time favorite GEC would have to be this Antique Amber Bone Viper #47 which was actually given to me as a gift from a good friend. It's right up there among the top ten most beautiful production knives I have ever owned. Unfortunately, circumstances are such that I'm having to sell it (currently listed on eBay) to raise funds to pay for more immediate & pressing needs. I will be very sorry to see this one go. C'est la vie!

Is the second knife an 81 moose knife? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Some more fine work by GEC, a few of last year's SFO 78s in Tortoise shell acrylic, from Gary Kifer of CutleryClassics, and the DLT Trading smooth Appaloosa bone. Also the Tidioute 2 blade in smooth white, or cow bone 78.

Good eye, it's the 81 Bull Moose in Appaloosa bone. Looks good, feels good, F&F excellent, all the usual pros for a Northfield. I read a few people complaining about there not being bear trap snap on the Bull Moose compared to some of the (presumably) stockman runs using the same frame. For me, both blades snap perfectly well without being dangerous OR sluggish and it makes an excellent carry knife. I really like what they did with the Appy dye job.

The Whaler is indeed a wild knife. I haven't had occasion to carry it yet. You don't realize just HOW big it is until you park it next to a big sunfish like a Case 6250 or a GEC 36 and the Whaler just dwarfs it. I'll need to get a stronger belt. ::paranoid:: ::smirk::

Fixed that. I would love to add more KSF stag to the pile. Forrest, Bullet and Burnside I covet. Thanks for all the comments, I'm just the caretaker of these currently, huge thanks to GEC, KSF andof course Dave Shirley for starting NORTHWOODS. There is a great interview on the KSF blog with Mr. Shirley about NW. Here is a link:

Here's another one of my favorite GEC knives...#61 in American Elk...that will probably be going on the eBay auction block next Sunday. So, all you GEC fanatics might want to take notice (my auctions always start at $9.99 with no reserve).

Q, i'm going for the elk 61, likely along with 27 other AAPK'ers. It is a great pattern and the elk antler has a mammoth look to it. Deep pockets are gunna be needed. What a smart looking knife.

Hmmm. Good question, you must be very pragmatic to consider selling these beauties for utilities. hawaiienergy.com says with rebates it will take 2k to purchase. I think these will sell in the $3-500 range, possibly more as they just do not come up for sale. My answer is 5 stainless elk GEC.
