Awesome pictures of a couple beautiful knives!Ivoryman wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 9:13 pm Here is the most unbelievable video I've ever seen on GEC collecting. He goes on and on dishing on them and GEC and then even says he doesn't know why anyone would carry a traditional knife? Really? With hundreds of years and millions of people carrying them, people still can't figure it out. Amazing how dense some can choose to be. And this guy, who calls himself "Advanced Knife Bro", is sitting there with several in front of him. Can't see the forest for the trees. You can take someone to the GEC water, but you can't make them drink.

I carry traditionals because I love them. They do everything I ever ask of them. Never get tired of seeing new traditionals and here's another one. Hats off GEC. Another fabulous, flawless piece. 2021 just got a little better thanks to a little help from Gunstock Jacks.

You have some really awesome looking pieces of cutlery Adog! Wow!Adog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 2:29 am Well I am like you I don't want to sell any of these, the last one of the three came pretty dear. But I have three grandsons so they can each have one. The prices that big GEC Stag have been getting is really going up, as I don't sell only collect I'm not a good person to place a value on knives , I've probably paid to much for some of mine, but there were other bidders driving the price, here are some Stag Whalers five Burnt Stag And the bottom is Genuine Stag, Adog

Nice ones garddogg56. The #44 Gunstock was not that popular when it first came out but it is an excellent Traditional pattern and GEC did a perfect job making these. Is the other one a #15 ?

Nniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiccccce Cudgee, wow you got the good looking bone. Mine on the last page is almost black tar looking without all the light spots. I prefer your browns and blondes, but I had to buy it as fast as I could and couldn't choose the bone. Took whatever bone they threw me and liked it.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Thank you my friend. I did not pick this, i was very fortunate to get this through the kindness of Charlie, so i gladly took what i received. But i have been using and carrying it now for nearly 2 years and the bone has smoothed and got the light spots through carry and use. It is typical bone, just gets better with carry. Have a look at the bone, bone, bone thread started today, there will be some beautiful old bone posted on that thread.Ivoryman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:39 pm

Nice Grinling Whittler Buckibbq. How many are there to make a complete set, and what year were they made ? The Grinlings i have seen on ebay sell for high prices so your set of these is quite valuable.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Thank you David!
There were eleven different variations of the Grinling Whittler made in 2015 including SFOs and Club knives. I’m still looking for the last one which is the burnt stag model with a bear shield of which there were 25 made for the Allegheny Mountain Knife Collectors Association. I’ve never even seen a picture of one, but know that they exist. I have duplicates of most with the exception of the two acrylics.

Wow, very impressive that you have 10 different 2015 Grinling Whittlers plus some duplicates. This is a 'high value' collection as the Grinling is a much sought after knife. If i every see the stag one with a Bear shield i will let you know.Buckibbq wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 4:07 am Thank you David!Roland, kootenay joe wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 3:23 pm Nice Grinling Whittler Buckibbq. This is a favorite grouping of all the SFO order GECs done for Roy Humenick. The “American Whittler” collection.

Knocking it out of the park again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeat group man, absolute art. That #29 Stockyard is the prettiest I've seen.
Couple 66 Calf Ropers that are testament to the addictive nature of these knife forums. Dangerous. I saw Mike313 and Jerry6818 posting this pattern in yellow rotten banana bone yeeeeeeearrs ago. Couldn't let it go, kept searching and seeking for a fix. Took years and lots of dough but half wit nut finally found one and probably overpaid. (sigh) What can I say? Pathetic.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Such a rich yellow on that 66, Ivoryman! Bet that has darkened nicely with a little age and use. The classy look of ebony is definitely one of my favorite woods.
