Meridian Mike very generously sent me a whole bag of shell casings to choose from! Mike, I really, really wanted to use the 45-70 Govt shell, but I would have had to enlarge the inlay cutout too much for the width of the scale and probably would have messed it up. I think the Rem 44 Mag shell turned out to be just the ticket. And, since this is a knife made by Camillus for Remington, a Remington shell is probably more appropriate. Mike, thanks again. I owe you one buddy! :D

Thanks. I can't wait to show it to you. I got lucky with the shell casings. On this particular one, the firing pin hit the primer right smack in the center. I noticed that some of them are a little off center, which I think would look a odd on a knife. Now I have to find the even bigger model Remington bullet knife, missing a shield, so I can use the 45-70 Govt shell I now have! :D

WOW... nice job on fitting the case head to the handle!
I am glad there was one in the bunch that you could use.
Nice looking knife!
