Knife stiddy's for sale

Post by Dilligas »

I had a few people express some interest in these stiddy's, they are ready to ship now. They have been treated with black oxide to prevent corrosion. They are $150.00 shipped in the United States, 2 have been sold and there are 13 left in this batch. There is some oil on the stiddy in the pictures which may look like the finish is uneven. PM me for payment details.

If I hadn't just had one made to those same specs I'd snatch one up at that price in a heartbeat. As a rule they would sell for around $300 with no problem. $150 is a steal for that chunk of steel!

I bought one of these this week as well - saw it on e-bay before I saw it here. I have been looking for one for several years.

You would be better served if you sent your inquiry to Kirby (Dillygas) in an email. He hasn't visited AAPK since last July.

Edit: You might also check with caddyman1973. He had "some" recently. I don't know if he still has them but I think he makes up a small batch now and then.

The last one sold in this thread was in 2012. I think there have been a few pop up from time to time in the last 6 years, but I don't think there has been one for sale yet this year that I recall.

They occasionally pop up on Ebay...but; generally are too rich for my blood. Do a search for the stiddy, on Ebay...then, "Save Search". You'll get notified, when one pops up.

Yeah, I’ve been looking for one for awhile and haven’t seen any on E-bay in the last year or two.
I’m considering buying a small section of railroad track that I can attach a small machined piece Of angle iron to (for replacing handles without disassembling the knife). Someone posted a few pictures of one they made awhile ago but I can’t remember who it was.
Stiddy’s are such a specialty item that they’re rarely available for sale.

So I did a bit of internet sleuthing and I understand the thin side is used for pinning the handle material on, but the other end the thicker side what is that for? I saw one thing said about using it so the blades dont contact each other but I cant figure how that would work. One post I saw thought u used the slot to bend the blade a bit so they dont rub when 2 blades are on a knife.

Also stumbled on this pic, not sure if it's from a book or someone's own design. I think the slot is 3/16" wide on each end.

I'm guessing there are lots of variable designs. Saw a few on the net with different sizes.

Interesting regardless

Jeff,
I have made a number of those railroad tracks stiddies. I will try and remember to post a few of them, they are not too difficult to make. The difficult part is getting the top of the railroad track smoothed out. I have found they don't need to be hardened either.
