Buck 301 October BOTM
Buck 301 October BOTM
The October BOTM is out. A 2 blade 301, similar to last years with black burlap micarta. The 2023 run has S30V steel, OD green micarta, and brass bolsters. Great looking knife and a nice sleek carry. One thing to note no pins on the handles like the previous runs.

Sounds like they’re almost gone. I’m surprised Buck hasn’t hopped onto the slipjoint market more. Would be nice to see a yearly production offering in stag, a different colored derlin, or acrylic.

Has anyone here purchased one of these, if so would like your thoughts. On another forum they seem to have some fit and finish issues, particularly gap problems.
Re: Buck 301 October BOTM
I did pick one up. I got lucky compared to some I’ve seen posted.
Overall a nice knife, I appreciate the upgraded steel. Craftsmanship just appears lazy, I would like to see pins holding the scales on and more attention to fit and finish. I just have some slight liner gap and uneven blade grinds, but a few I’ve seen posted are terrible.
I have a few Buck 301 and 303s, none are perfect, but at around $50 they’re a favorite of mine. Last years 301 BOTM I received was sent back to Buck for warranty work due to blade rub, gaps, and a wonky piece of micarta.
At the price point for these BOTM a person should see better than average Case production quality.
