Buck 505 Script Custom.

Post by fredswartz »

Hi.
Long time since last post. I have a collection of Buck
500, 501, 503 and 505 knives etc. I have dated and
identified all with the help of this forum.

I just bought a Buck 505 Script with wooden scales and
stamped Buck 505 Custom USA. I have never seen this
stamping before. Can someone shed some light on
It’s history. Would post a picture but I’ve sent it to Buck for SPA treatment.

Hey Fred,

The 505 Script you bought sounds as if it was "Custom" made by Buck, due to the custom stamp. I am suspecting that; the one you bought belonged to someone who had it custom made. It should also have the 'anvil' stamp on it too, if it is a custom made knife. The anvil stamp was first used in 2002 for that year only, and then for all 'custom' made knives made after 2002. As to any history regarding the knife itself, you would need to know who actually had it custom made and how long ago.

Hope this helps...
