Buck Vanguard

Post by MrGrumpy »

Hi gents new guy from England here
I have been looking to buy myself a Vanguard but they are hard to find over here and twice the price !!
I have found a couple but the sheath is a dark brown painted or plastic coated affair
Does anyone know if the natural tan is still available ?
the story goes i was given one nearly 30 years ago as a gift from my best friend
It went all over the world with me and never let me down from dressing red deer to prying possum traps of my thumb
Then some bottom feeder broke into my truck and took off with my kit bag ::doh::
the itch wont go away so i would like one the same
any information appreciated
kind regards Ben
Aka Grumps ::shrug::

Well been all over UK suppliers today but they only have the dark brown and its a sort of thin plastic coating
No idea why they would do this as its not going to last the way i use and carry
the quest continues Ideally i would like to find a late 80s early 90s like the one i had
the quest continues ::doh::

Oh there are many reasons :shock: first im half Cumbrian haf Yorkshireman so i had it genetically
As for the knife my best friend bought me it nearly 30 years ago
I was living in New Zealand when it was stolen
I had just put my bag in the truck gone back in the house to get my rifle when there was a cloud burst
5 minutes later i went out to my truck to find a smashed window and no kit bag
Iv been looking for a replacement since !!
