Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

Got this one over the weekend. A Buck 709 Yearling. It has the > date mark for 1987. Blades are tight, great snap, and I don't believe have been used. The bolsters do show some light carry scratches. This one has a blade etch on both sides of the clip blade for Lawson Products, and seems to maybe be a service award for 25 years of service from 1952 to 1987. A google search says Lawson Products provides industrial supply products and is based out of Chicago IL. This competes my Buck 700 series knives.

Thanks P.B. I had a first year or there about fixed blade Buck and I recall the handle being like this one... ::hmm:: Just wondering if somebody would recognize anything about it.

Bought this little BUCK single blade 2020 pattern 379. I don't like heavy knives in my dress slacks so I have several smaller knives like this one to carry on Sunday morning.

Nice John, I see you ordered the limited run Buck of the Month. Bet it is really light in the pocket. OH

Ps. Got lucky at an antique mall in Jacksonville a couple weeks back, old Two-Dot Folding Hunter in excellent condition. All I had to do was put a decent edge back on it. OH

I picked up this Bantam recently, mainly because of the Colt connection. Right at 3 3/4" closed, very light weight.

🤔 I would imagine once it was played in it could open like a flipper by depressing the lock while using some wrist flicking action.

I was reading a web page called "Buck Lifetime Knives-The Story Of The 100 Series Fixed Blades". They show a page from the 1956 catalog that has a "NEW" model. It's the Bone Cutting Knife. It's a serrated knife like a modern bread knife but for sportsmen. The handle seems to have a similar spacer set up. Don't know if this will help or not.

In the 4th picture down that shows the different handles, the handle on the first knife with clear material looks similar in shape and pommel.

Good you found it. I haven't figured out how to make links yet. The new BONE CUTTER KNIFE seems to have a similar contrasting spacer in the center of the handle. Not a great picture though.

I am wondering if there is a "Buck Historian" somewhere ... or maybe working at Buck USA right now that could answer my question. ::hmm::
