Chain in a box
Chain in a box
Kinda going slow but working on a chain in a box. Interesting concept as you have to keep the chain tight. Fun project, just getting started.
Re: Chain in a box
Wow that's awesome! Can't wait to see it finished.

Amazing! You've already done more...than I could ever do. What's your knife & blade of choice?

That's really cool. I've done some chains but none like that. I really like that one. ___Dave

Re: Chain in a box
Thanks fellows. Hope I can get there with out any major break downs.
I have mostly used a Flex Cut so far. But also a 72 a little and a Case medium stockman a little. Mostly just the Flex Cut.

Re: Chain in a box
That kind of thing takes patience. Very nicely done.

Thanks Mike.
Re: Chain in a box
Finally got back to my chain in a box. I was having trouble separating the links as there was no room to get to them. Finally settled on a little piece of coping saw blade. (it helped me cope) Need to clean up the links some and the hearts. Maybe some type of wheel in the base. Nothing special but I have enjoyed it. Thanks for looking.

Very cool! You could make one for each of us right? I could help you start a list of our names.
I'm always glad to help.

Re: Chain in a box
Awesome job! My brain can't even process doing that; although, I could probably pull off the giant molar, on top

Thanks Skip.
And that shows my true whittling skills Doc. A heart that looks more like a molar. I may just go with molar and see what turns out. Thanks Doc.
TPK, they would all be old before I got through.

Re: Chain in a box
That turned out nice. It must have took a lot of patience to carve.
To bad we live so far apart or I'd come over and have you show me how to whittle out a chain. I have a piece cut in a + shape but I think it's to small for my first try at one.

Re: Chain in a box
By the way...I did know that was a heart...It's just that I'd do better at carving a molar

Doug, I wish we could get together too. I've seen your work, I could learn a lot from you. Just a regular chain is not real difficult with your abilities. Just jump on it and do it. I saw one a fellow carved out of a match stick so yours isn't too small. I look forward to seeing it.
