We had a Mountain Man rendezvous themed scout Camporee this past weekend, and the activity director for our district is big in Civil war enactment and Fur Trader rendezvous’, so I made him a little something to give him to show my gratitude for all he does. It was a great camp, we had tomahawk throwing, archery, black powder muzzle loading, flint and steel fire start and a mock bear attack that the boys had to show their first aid skill on.

Outstanding Wade! You have a real good eye for facial features and I wish I had that for my wood burning.

Thanks, I have an another project I’ve been messing with for a few weeks but keep getting sidetracked with little things like the mountain men. Mainly I just like to stay busy.

My other POS exchange gift I made. This was sent as a thank you to the person who sent me my package. The golfer is 1x4 pine and the other is a carvers core of a golf ball.

Thanks guys, the golf ball was fun, it’s an odd texture but carves great with gouges.

Couple of little Mother’s Day projects. The theme for the May whittling challenge on r/whittling on Reddit was a flower so this was my contribution. I think I will make several more to give some special ladies I know on Mothers Day too. They are alder wood, knife carved thinned acrylic and Feed an’ Wax sealed.

Very talented, Cooley. 😎👍👍 I'm good at making wood shavings for starting a fire, that's about it.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Thanks! I have thought about doing a flower before but it isn’t my personal carving choice, but since it was the monthly challenge I figured why not. If I carve it all out , rough carve the tip and cheat using the dremel to help deepen the folds of the center I can knock one put pretty easily.
