Some more carvings. I made about 28 of these rabbits. A few other random things also.

Doug, I am so impressed with your progress in such a short period of time. Very creative with the eyes. And a good variety on your little people. ::nod:: ::tu::

Today, I received this gift, among a few others, from C-WADE7.
It is a hand carved "Bell System" logo. It has a hanging loop.
It measures roughly 2 1/4" X 2 1/4."
I would like to THANK Coley for his thoughtful gesture.

Here is the latest moving animal I made for the counter at the wife’s restaurant. Had a heck of a time with the tail moving mechanism after thinking I had it totally set I ended up having to redesign the whole thing
Pulling the string causes the tail to move like it’s swimming.

Always enjoyed whittling but don't have the eye for the detail you fellers display! Some fine-looking work. ::nod::
I think I've mentioned before Grandpa Wes, he was my uncle's dad. If I remember correctly his full name was John Wesley Bellamy, he died in the mid 1950's. He used to whittle (carve) wooden pistols for me to play with. He made them of Red Wood scraps from my uncle's house building work. It always amazed me how he so easily removed excess wood and in just a day or so out would come a red wood pistol for a little feller to play with and lose or break. Grandpa Wes would make me another pistol when that one wore out or disappeared. Good memories!
Sometime back I whittled out a big wooden spoon for Miss Joy. I believe Scott inspired with his spoon making. :)
Got a set of wood carving knives for Father's Day so I put them to the test beginning a week or so ago. The rainy afternoons have allowed me a little time to make a pile of shavings hoping another spoon would appear. This one is made from a dried Sable Palm limb.
The dried "frond" came from this Cabbage tree. (think swamp cabbage or heart of palm salad)

The spoon looks great Treefarmer. It is as much about enjoyment and the final product. Nice to make something with your hand and imagination.
