I spent a couple hours hunting Arrowheads and here is what I've found:

I found this a few years ago about 100 yards from my house. I saw a little bit on metal in the grass and started digging, so here it is:

Best info I could find about this .22 rifle it was in a Sears 1911 Catalog ::tu::

Thanks for looking and enjoy ::tu:: ::tu::

Nice finds. Used to take my daughter point hunting in Southern Indiana along the Ohio River. We found some beauts there. What do you know about the remains of the old rifle? From what's left it looks like an old Stevens Crackshot or more likely a Favorite since the Favorite came in larger calibers. Here a couple of pics of my Crackshot 26 to compare similarities.

tj, best I've found on this rifle is an old catalog from Sears dated 1911 and they had some Marlins, Stevens that looked simular. This one is very rusted and I can't find any info on the gun. I was on my tractor hauling hay from the bottom and taking the hay to my hay pen. I kept running over this same spot on top of a hill. I kept seeing about 6" of what I thought was a metal rod. When I finished hauling for the day I went to pick this rod and I had to dig it out of the ground. It is a great part of our history. I wish there was a way to found out what brand it is. It is very pitted so I'm sure the band is long gone. It looks very simular to th one you showed. Thanks for sharing the pictures ::tu::

I always wish for a time machine when I see finds like that...
