Old Bridgeport Howe Mfg Co. Hatchet Hammer Tool

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

This old Bridgeport Howe Mfg. tool has been in my family for a very, very long time. I never saw anyone use it. I have never, nor do I think I will ever use it. I don't ever remember seeing it when it had handles. It is in pretty good overall condition, but it does have some issues. If that was a nail puller on the top of the tool, then it is broken off and brings it down to fair condition. The handle pins are still present. The maker mark/stamp says BHM CORP TRADEMARK. What year was this manufactured?, I don't know. ::shrug::

Many made for opening freight boxes and crates. Had oak handles.

Hi. Thank you for the info. I saw a few pictures of complete tools after I posted this one.
Looks like most of the nail puller is definitely missing.
