Scott, the pages and pages of articles regarding Native Americans
have absolutely nothing to do with the topic of arrowheads.

Thanks D.L. ::handshake:: I got this for a project that did not work out so well. I made a cut in a mesquite tree branch, inserted this obsidian piece in the limb and left it for a year and 1/2 or so. The idea being that the wood will grow around the stone and lock it in place and Poof! You have a stone axe/club. I have read that the Indians actually used that as a method to make a war club. However, the wood never grew around the stone and my experemint was a big 'Ol flop... ::facepalm:: ::dang::

It is sort of the same as when there is barb wire around a tree and then the tree grows and sort of swallows the wire. The wood will "fuse" around the stone and securely hold it in place... in theory ::hmm:: at least.

Here was how the stone was supposed to sit while the branch grew around it. However, it did not take  :x

Some 1000-year-old arrow heads from a cave near Tucson, Arizona. Complete arrows were found in the cave as well.

That’s cool; I’ve been trying to find arrowheads for many years now with not much luck. The closest I got was when I found 1/4 of the bottom part of a Clovis point.

So I thought it would be easier to make them instead.

I just now got some suitable material to knap, and my wife got me some real knapping tools for Christmas.

Here’s the best point I’ve made so far:

Dacite 1-7/8” long X 3/4” wide and a little over an eighth at the thickest.

...12 But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God...
