Pratt,Ropes,Webb & Co.

Post by knife7knut »

Found this set of table knives and forks today at a local antique shop. The ivory handles have the usual cracks and one was replaced with an incorrect handle(I think I have the correct one somewhere)but the steel is in excellent shape considering they are about 170 years old.
Did a little research on the company and discovered they were only in business from 1849-1855 in Hanover CT when they merged with Meridan Cutlery which eventually became International Silver.
