Yesterday's Score.............

Post by knife7knut »

Here are a few close up pics of the knives I bought yesterday for 50 cents apiece. Two of them have salesman's markings on them(the Standard Knife Co and the Clyde). The Clyde Cutlery knife has a very unusual edge(s) that would make it harder to sharpen than a serrated knife. There is a patent pending mark on it and it likely was never produced in great numbers due to the edge.
The Keen Kutter butcher knives at first look identical but the K104 has a slightly wider blade at the tip and is a full tang with 3 rivets and rounded pommel whereas the K204's are partial tang and have two rivets with a squared off pommel
The Dasco knives I am currently researching;I seem to remember hearing the name somewhere.Likewise the two stag handled steak knives which I believe are French.
The Queen steak knives may be of recent origin as they have laminated wood(stabilized)handles but have lead bolsters. The Queen fork is I believe part of a carving set(I have 2 Queen carvers I bought years ago that will go fine with it)and has a most unusual octagonal bolster/guard.
Anyway here are the pictures that will take two posts.Comments welcome.
