Identify a knife by the etched letters
Identify a knife by the etched letters
I think I have seen this type of lettering before but have no idea where I seen it. Have looked thru all my books and figure one of you will know.

Do you have a photo of the entire knife? Might help to identify it.

Re: Identify a knife by the etched letters
One will never figure it out by the etch since several companies used the same etch. A shame it's missing the guard, it would be a nice knife. Are there nothing left of the maker's marks on the ricasso?

What Company used that style etching? I think I could figure it out from there since its so fat.
Re: Identify a knife by the etched letters
I'm sorry, but I had two knives with the same etch by two different manufacturers but I sold both of them a couple years ago and do not remember the maker's names on them. Have you tried posting on the other forum, perhaps somebody there might have one. In any case just because you find one maker who used that etch it does not mean that maker made your knife since more than one maker used the same etch.

No I did not post it over there because of image hosting. When I seen how thick the blade was I thought it was an early knife till I seen the spun pins in the handle and figured it was an early American knife or other . I really do not have any clue at this point. One thing I did notice is the steps at the handle. Anyhow thanks for your time.
