Good day! I got this on an auction and the Case sign has a little rust or discoloration on it. Otherwise it looks new in box. What is the best way to clean this? Thanks for any input!

There are probably many ways to attack your problem. From my camp, we would start with the old standby "Mothers Mag.." and an old soft rag from an old T-shirt. Any very light abrasive should help remove what ever is going on. If the spots have pitted the Nickel Silver it may be a bit different, clean it up and enjoy the best you can. ::tu::

Edit: And don't forget the #2 pencil, the graphite is a great way to remove very light rust.

Dave, I agree with Treefarmer's suggestion and would start with the pencil first. But, it appears from your picture that it may be corrosion rather than surface discoloration on that shield. My next step would be Flitz blue polishing cream. For small spots I like to use it on a q-tip. You can really work it in right on the bad spot. After that I would go to a small polishing wheel loaded with tripoli on my rotary tool. The last resort would be very fine sand paper followed by polishing. BUT, before you go to anything like that mask off the area around the shield with masking tape. You never know when something is going to react with or damage the handle scales. Good luck!

I agree 100% what Herb said. If that shield is pitted, look to
see if it can be popped off. I think they are glued on. Then,
get your self another shield. Maybe Case can
sell you one for a few bucks.
