Help dating an Imperial pocket knife.

Post by swarlo1105 »

Hi. I'm needing some assistance in dating an imperial knife. I wasn't able to find the tang markings on any chart.

It looks to say:

Longer blade:
STAINLESS
IMPERIAL
PROV USA

Shorter blade:
IMPERIAL
STAINLESS
U.S.A.

See attached photos.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
Adam.

There are a couple of old threads on this subject. This is of interest to me also because I have an Imperial tip bolster stainless celluloid jack that I have not been able to match to any tang stamp chart. Mine also does not have Prov USA on it. I have thought mine might be from the pre shell handle days.
