Who made this knife
I've got this old knife im just curious as to who made it. I can't make out the tang stamp.

Ideal Knife Company was actually a separate company, not a brand used by Colonial. I don't know when they started but they were in business until the late 1980's. They were in Rhode Island as were Imperial, Colonial, and Providence Cutlery. All four of these companies made the inexpensive "crimped bolster" knives.

Over the years I have noticed that many Ideal USA knives have light tang stamps. Or stamps that are half legible. Don't know why but it's made it to where those who aren't familiar with the brand find them hard to identify.
