No feedback for this seller. I am going to say it is a rookie mistake. ::shrug::

I have seen this done mistakenly a good number of times. As usual I contacted the seller to let them know it is posted twice. Most times it is a mistake and the seller will thank me for letting them know. This is what I would want to happen if it was done by me as it could lead big problems. I will see if there is a response.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

The $1800 (reserve not met) listing ends one hour before the listing with no reserve. Is the seller hoping that someone will bid for the $1800 listing and then he will tell the winner of the other listing that 'knife is no longer available" ?
The listings are not identical so he most know that he posted them both.

Perhaps the brand new seller isn't aware he can make 1 listing with both bidding and "Buy It Now" in the same listing? ::shrug:: 8)

If as a seller you try to put up two listings where every word is identical, Ebay has automatic algorithms that will not allow it.

Some people have issues with ebay making duplicate listings. I sell on etsy as well. After I sell an item they duplicate it, relist it, and it sells again. I've had to cancel many orders recently and thinking of closing up shop on etsy. Could possibly be a technical glich.
