Elgin knife history

Post by BOHICA001 »

Can anyone provide any information about the Elgin knife that I have attached photos of? I cannot find any history pertaining to it.

Not familiar with this one but have a small gold fob knife marked Elgin American Co.;might be the same company.

Beautiful and unusual knife. Beautiful inlay work. Bolsters look to be brass which I have seen on some old Challenge pocket knives but very unusual on old folders. Could this be related to Elgin watches? Perhaps made for opening watch cases?
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
