knife handle identification

not sure what kind of handles these are i think its a polished horn but not sure if is ox, bull, ram? I think its been rehandled since its a p197 l ssp 1975 sharkstooth.

From the photo's it looks like cow (bovine)horn. ::tu:: Terry

Yep definitely horn, maybe water buffalo.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I'm certainly no expert, but I would have said rams horn.
I don't think I've ever knowingly seen bovine horn.

Water Buffalo horn can be light in color as well as greens to black in color.

I should have been more clear. I meant I have never knowingly seen bovine horn used as a knife handle.
