You really don't see "trade knives" all that often. I have something similar, of similar age--it's a Green River.

I believe this is what's called a "wallpaper hanger's knife". It's made to cut wallpaper being hung. It pretty much served a capacity now done by Stanley/Box Cutter/Utility type knives.
