Carl Schlieper German Eye 4 Blade Congress when was it made?
Carl Schlieper German Eye 4 Blade Congress when was it made?
I recently picked up this knife and was wondering when it was made and what it might be worth? Thanks

Late 1980s is my best guess, based on round shield and pattern number stamp. Some that collect that age Eye may be able to pin it down a little closer.

Ray is your best bet for a correct answer. I don’t know anyone who knows more about Carl Schlieper knives. Value is a hard thing to assess from afar.
Check Ebay for completed or sold knives just like it.
I found 1 just like yours here https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Carl-S ... 7675.l2557

I am observing something on some of the Schlieper congress pattern knives that piques my curosity. The subject knife is equipped with two secondary coping blades which seem to be the current norm. For many years the congress knives came with pen secondary blades. Does anyone have a clue as to when the switch to coping blades became prevalent on the Schlieper congress patterns. I apologize in advance if this topic has been discussed in the past on the forum.
