possible John Primble?

Hi! I'm very new to pocket knives and collecting them so sorry if I don't use the correct terminology, but I recently purchased this pocket knife from a pawn shop purely for aesthetic reasons, and after I brought it home and cleaned it up a bit I noticed that it had a stamp that read "John Primble Belknap INC" and "USA" below that, however the bottom bit is pretty worn off and hard to read. I was wondering if there was a way to date this knife? I would love to know more about it! Sorry if the pictures are bad quality but its very hard to get a good picture of the stamp.

What you have there is an Ulster 50 pattern made by Schrade for Belknap. That tang stamp was the last one they used starting in 1968 running through the mid 80's which is probably as close as you can date the knife. With that jig pattern my gut says it's probably on the early end of the range but really not sure. It's a nice EDC - I have a bunch of 'em. Maybe one of their most prolific patterns. You can find a million of that exact knife on ebay with those same exact scales with Ulster, Primble or Craftsman branding.

Would you say that this knife is particularly valuable? I got it for $18 and I don't plan on selling it but it would be cool to know if its worth anything.

It's not rare but it is a great user. I think you paid exactly what it was worth. Put a drop of oil on the joints once in a blue moon and enjoy it!
