Hi. I know absolutely nothing about knives in general let alone Russell
knives. But someone with knowledge will be stopping by soon.
I can tell you right now, these guys, and gals, LOVE PICTURES.
I suggest you post a few, especially the tang stamp or maker mark(s). :D

Thanks very much Bob for the link to the Russell display--the gentlemanly thing to do as opposed to a response dripping with sarcasm. You have been very helpful--did not know there were so many different Russell tang stamps and pin placements--thanks again.

You are no gentleman yourself. If you can respond to a light joke with a mean statement like that then someone needs to remember knives are not life and death. I will live hate free hope you can.

CANTHOK I assume this knife is something other than a Barlow. Is that correct?

You might try the Museum of Industrial History in Greenfield Massachusetts. They have a good history of the company on their website and are always compiling information about the company. I spoke with them awhile back concerning some unusual Russell blades I had acquired(see General Forum for pics)and they informed me there is a gentleman on premises who will be starting to manufacture Russell knives.
