Old case knife?

Hello everyone I joined the forum to ask about a knife I picked up at a flea market over the weekend.
I believe it’s an old Case “pigsticker” it’s obviously been loved to death- I doubt it has much value because of its condition but I just wanted to see if any experts wanted to confirm that before I regrind the blade back to a useful shape.
From what I can see it seems likely the knife is pretty old, but I’m curious if anyone thinks the wood scales are original? The only examples I see online have bone handles. The sheath it’s pictured with I actually bought from a separate vendor at the same flea market it seems appropriate.
Thanks for any input you feel like giving.

You are correct. Knife has no collector value, go ahead and make it into something you like. The handles are definitely replacements and the sheath is from a newer era although it would be good for holding the knife hen you're done.

I think the handles on your knife could well be original. Although well worn the walnut wood and bevels on the handles look correct to me. Handle wear is consistent with the blade wear. As said given condition there is as much value in it as a good user as there is a collectible.
