WW2 Engineer's Knife question

Got a question about the knife pictured below.
It's a WW2 MADE IN U.S.A. with no manufacturer stamping.
I've got Silvey's book and he mentions these knives (page 54) but doesn't go into who might have manufactured them. This one seems to be a later one 'cause of the type of can opener, probably 1944 or later.
Anybody have a clue?
