I picked this up a while back. The knife is unmarked, it came in a Kinfolks sheath. I think it is custom made or maybe from a you build it kit. Any ideas?
Custom or Kit Knife
Re: Custom or Kit Knife
Doesn’t look like a knife kit knife to me its
Hard to tell from the pics without holding in hand but maybe just a homemade re handle job
Cool interesting looking knife though

-( life is too short to carry a cheap knife )-
Re: Custom or Kit Knife
Looks home made to me, not many custom makers use slotted screws for handle pins. If it was heat treated right it is probably a good user. Terry
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Re: Custom or Kit Knife
It is solid little knife. I found the use of screws interesting as well, they are actually threaded into the tang. If you look at both sides of the knife you will see they are offset.

Re: Custom or Kit Knife
I say made by a guy who knew what he was doing and this is far from his first effort. Kind of guy who made them for friends, so a knife maker but not his only line of work.
I have seen & have here somewhere similar knives: fairly heavy stock & handle with big screws with the 'home made' look. Blade might be modified from a production knife. My thought is that these were made in 1940's & '50's ? total guess.
Neat knife and tough like heck i bet.
