PIC was a NY based knife company that imported knives from both Germany and Japan.

Most of their knives were of decent to good quality, especially when viewed from their price points.

The company got out of the knife import business in either the late 80s or early 90s.

The company is still around, I think, but doing other things now.

Oh, PIC was short for Precise Instrument Company

I have some German made PIC's from the 1950's that were made by the Linder Bros. of Solingen. They made knives for a lot of other knife companies besides PIC and are still in business.

Mr. Watch, who decided "PIC" should be pronounced as "peak" as in "peek-a-boo" ?
"PIC" to me is pronounced "pick", as in "pick up after your dog".
Maybe "PIC" in German is pronounced "peak" ?

I found the word/explanation somewhere on the internet and put it in my permanent records. I have slept many nights since then.
